July 22-27, 2012 in Washington DC, USA Theme: Turning the Tide Together
The International AIDS Conference is the premier gathering for those working in the field of HIV, as well as policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic. AIDS 2012 will present new scientific knowledge and offer many opportunities for structured dialogue on the major issues facing the global response to HIV.
SCMS was notified that five out of fourteen of our abstracts were accepted (a 36 percent success rate) for presentation at the XIX International AIDS Conference (six if we count a USG/CDC abstract that was accepted with SCMS as a co-author). Accepted abstracts were from SCMS programs in Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, and Zambia, reflecting the project’s successes and lessons learned in crisis management, the use of mobile technology, pre-service training, voluntary medical male circumcision, and procurement efficiencies. Keep an eye on this page for more updates, and check out the IAS website for more information.
